Amarnath Yatra to remain suspended till August 4

In view of inclement weather conditions, shooting stones andlandslides particularly in the state, particularly in Jammu region, theAmarnath Yatra will remain suspended till 4th August 2019.

India Meteorology Department has predicted heavy rainfallfor next few days all over Jammu and Kashmir, which may cause landslides andshooting stones on the highway between Jammu and Srinagar, particularly in thestretch between Ramban and Banihal, which is highly vulnerable to landslidesand shooting a stone.

The track from Baltal and Pahalgam has become slippery andslashy due to heavy rainfall and the situation is likely to aggravate in thenext couple of days in view of weather advisory issued by IMD.
